Use of Gross Domestic Product in Measurement of Government Expenditure – with an example from Statistics on Education Expenditure
In Norway’s reporting to the OECD’s Education at a Glance (EaG) statistics, Mainland Norway’s gross domestic product (GDP MN) is used as the reference measure to calculate the share of expenditure on education. All other countries in this statistical publication use total GDP as the reference.
Are there many “working poor” among the self-employed in Norway?
The purpose of this report is to measure the share of “working poor” among self-employed individuals in Norway, as well as to map their socio-demographic characteristics and industry affiliation. As a group, the self-employed show markedly greater income inequality than wage earners in Norway.
Salmon price in the period of August 11th – August 17th
In the period of August 11th – August 17th the export price of fresh salmon came to NOK 64.38 per kilo, up 3.8 per cent compared to the previous seven-day period.
Slightly higher electricity price
Despite a decline in the spot price of electricity, the average electricity price for households was 3 percent higher in the second quarter of 2025 than in the previous quarter, but 1,1 percent lower than in the second quarter of last year.
